What do I need to know?

  1. What will change with the new system start page?

    A more compact start page and a simple side menu help you to work more efficiently. You will not only be able to see all the applications you need at a glance, you will also be able to switch much more quickly between applications.

  2. When will I have access to the new system start page?

    We will be presenting our new system start page at the transport logistic trade fair in Munich from 4th to 7th of June, and then updating it bit by bit for our customers in the Smart Logistics System.

  3. Why can’t I see the new system start page yet?

    In order to ensure fluid workflows and offer you the best possible customer service, the new system start page has been randomly activated for individual users, independent of the country they come from.

  4. Can I test the new system start page in advance?

    If you want to, you can request early access to the start page. Simply contact your account manager.

  5. Do I have to download the TIMOCOM software again?

    No, the new system start page will be part of a regular software update. You will simply start the software as usual and have access to the new start page.

  6. Will the new system start page be introduced at the transport logistic trade fair?

    Yes. We are looking forward to showing you our new system start page at the trade fair and will be happy to accept your feedback regarding further development of the page.

  7. Can I use the new system start page with my browser?

    To ensure optimal use, we recommend you use Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Ideally, the browser version should be no more than a year old. If you are using Internet Explorer, update to version 11/XI.

How is the new system start page structured?

  1. What smart apps are available in the Smart Logistics System?

    The following smart apps are available in the Smart Logistics System: quote requests, freight, vehicle space, warehouse, tenders, routes and costs, transport orders, tracking, company profiles, debt collection and newsworthy. There will be more smart apps added in the future, so you can look forward, for example, to a summary of all current driving bans.

  2. Can I use all the smart apps on the new system start page?

    Yes. If you are unable to open one of the applications, click the button ‘Find out more’ in the relevant smart app to get information on the advantages it offers.

  3. How can I keep using the old system start page?

    Unfortunately, you will no longer be able to use the old system start page. If you have any questions, you can take a look at our tutorials to help you get started with the new system start page. Our account managers will also be happy to offer you advice and assistance.

  4. What happens to the previous product names, such as TC Truck&Cargo, Transport Order, Profile, etc.?

    The previous names and products are not going away, they have simply been integrated into the smart apps and structured to better suit your transport processes. Use the colours of the smart apps to navigate through the new page, they are based on the colours used in the older products. This will make the transition to the new system easier for you.
  5. Where do I find myTIMOCOM?

    The myTIMOCOM area is in the same spot, but now it is simply called Settings. Click on the gear in the upper right of the tool bar to change your company or user information, view the blacklist function and much more.

  6. Why are the applications in the side menu in that order?

    The menu is application oriented: it represents the logical sequence of the transport process you are familiar with. In the initiation phase you search for appropriate business partners, e.g. with help from a quote request, via a freight, vehicle space or warehousing offer, or using a tender. The next step is to calculate routes and costs as the basis of your transport order. After assigning the order, you can use our tracking application to follow the progress of the transport as it is carried out. In addition, after the transport is complete, you can keep track of your quote requests and orders using our statistics.

  7. What exactly can I find in the tool bar?

    In the toolbar located above the system start page you will find the messenger, notifications, customer news, messages to TIMOCOM as well as your settings and the new create button.

  8. What can I do with the create button?

    The create button allows you to immediately create quote requests and orders, freight, vehicle and warehousing offers, tenders, routes, and of course grant tracking permission. First, within the application, click on the new '+' button, and then you can create an offer quickly and easily.

  9. How do I get in touch with TIMOCOM if I have any questions?

    You can find a list of the most important TIMOCOM contact partners in the contacts bar located in the lower areas of the system start page.

  10. Who are the contact partners for my questions about the new system start page?

    Our employees from the Customer Care and Sales departments will be happy to answer your questions.

  11. Can I rearrange the smart apps on the start page?

    Yes, in the future you will be able to decide for yourself which smart apps to display on your personal system start page and put them in the order you want them in. This feature has not yet been introduced.

  12. How can I open the routes & costs smart app and the company profiles smart app in a new window?

    In the side menu on the left, right-click on the menu option 'Routes & costs' or 'Company profiles', then select 'Open in new window.' Now the relevant app (routes & costs or company profiles) will open in a new window and you can use it as normal.

  13. Why do the routes & costs smart app and the company profiles smart app open directly across the whole screen?

    You have the option of an integrated smart app display across the entire screen, or, as before, opening them in a new window.
    The advantage of viewing them as a full page display is that you can see more in the smart apps. You can also open the messenger, for example to communicate with a current transport.

  14. Is my click path longer now?

    No, even though it might seem like it at first. The system remembers which sub-page you visited last (e.g. offers or search). This means the number of clicks remains the same, for example when switching between searching for freight and offering vehicles, and therefore clicking on either Freight or Vehicles.

  15. Why can’t I open “Calculate route” from the freight search smart app?

    If your browser is set to block pop-up windows, the “Calculate route” function cannot open.
    You could deactivate your browser’s pop-up blocker for all websites, or add TIMOCOM as an exception using the following address: https://my.timocom.com
    You will usually see a symbol in the browser’s address bar that, when clicked on, will take you to the settings for dealing with pop-up windows.

  2. How does the new system start page make my work easier?

    The new system start page has a simplified, sequenced summary to help make working with the Smart Logistics System easier. The smart apps are displayed in the order you, as a dispatcher, freight forwarder or manager in the manufacturing and trade sector are most likely to use them in. It is now much easier to switch between individual applications, and to map your entire process within the TIMOCOM system.

  3. Can I integrate my own system with the TIMOCOM system?

    We offer the option of connecting your Transport Management System to our Smart Logistics System, allowing you to search directly for and enter freight, or to send orders using our interface. You can also receive GPS data on your shipments and then evaluate it further within your own system.

  4. Can I use the new system start page on mobile end devices?

    The new system start page is also designed for use on mobile end devices. For complete mobile use of the whole TIMOCOM system, however, you will have to wait a little longer. Thank you for your patience.

  5. Can I use the new system start page on different sized screens?

    Our new system start page adapts flexibly to the size of your screen. That way, you can work optimally with your preferred device.
